Lot Title:

1798 Small Eagle 15 Stars (BB-81, B-2). NGC XF-45.
Description:
Outstanding eye-appeal awaits bidders who appreciate original coins, since this early piece portrays just about every characteristic of an early dollar that has no problem and that hasn't been messed with. Sharp details distinguish Liberty's portrait, framing each strand of hair with near-complete definition, except where slight wear has merged a couple of curls. The eagle's breast is a little flat, again from light circulation, but the wings offer a full complement of finely detailed plumage. Not one single errant mark harms the surface; the closest thing to a noticeable contact mark appears a pair of tiny scratches beneath the right (observed) wing. Premier quality for certain, with a touch of luster to boot. (PCGS# 040007)
