1840 (Valentine -6) No Drapery. NGC MS-64.

Description:
|
Either side is well toned in deep olive-grey, with underlying navy-blue color also seen on the reverse. This is a coin with exquisitely formed details, the sharpness being well suited to even the gem level, although some luster is lost to the thick patina, and that may be impetus for limiting the grade to MS-64. Astute collectors will find a marvelous bisecting die-crack on the obverse, which identifies the die-marriage as Valentine-6. (PCGS# 004321)
