1840 No Drapery. NGC AU-58 Jules Reiver Collection.

Description:
|
Ex-Jules Reiver (Heritage, 1/25/2006). Three faint scratches are scattered across the right obverse field, and there is a thin scrape above her knee, confirming this as a coin that has seen only a touch of circulation. Nonetheless, obvious mint luster emanates from the slightly prooflike fields. The obverse is saturated with rather intense lime green iridescence that is overlaid with an interplay of cornflower blue and cyan colors. These same two bluish tones dominate the reverse, except within the borders of the wreath, where crimson hues highlight the denomination. Prominently struck overall, even at the borders.
