Lot Title:
1945-D NGC MS-67.
Description:
For a coin with mintage near ten-million, it may be a surprise that the present MS-67 grade has been exceeded only twice at NGC (and never at PCGS). Tan-gold patina has settled across each side, yielding to subtle iron-blue at the extreme margin of the obverse. There are certainly no large blemishes to be seen on either side, as demanded of a superb-gem, but minor ticks show up on Liberty's face, and a touch of strike weakness is noticeable at her hand.
