(About The Images)

Lot Title:
1945-D NGC MS-66.
Description:
The obverse is completely toned in dusky shades of mid autumn, including harvest gold, platinum-blue and forest-grey, while the reverse is dominated by pearl-grey patina. Despite the depth of the toning, the surfaces are illuminated by swirling luster, and no loupe is required to recognize very sharp definition. (PCGS# 006625)

For a coin with mintage near ten-million, it may be a surprise that the present MS-67 grade has been exceeded only twice at NGC (and never at PCGS). Tan-gold patina has settled across each side,... |

Plush silky-smooth surfaces bear scarcely the slightest blemish on either side, with only the most trivial ticks remaining on the high points due to a strike that wasn't quite powerful enough to... |
