1843-D Small Date, Crosslet 4. PCGS VF-25. 1843-D Small Date, Crosslet 4. PCGS VF-25.
Lot Title: 1843-D Small Date, Crosslet 4. PCGS VF-25.
Description: This is, without a doubt, as original a gold coin from Dahlonega as can possibly exist. The surfaces retain 100% of their vintage appearance, with dusky grey-gold patina and ashy deposits clinging to most of the devices. The obverse has about the most perfect presentation imaginable for the VF-25 grade, and were it not for an ancient, single lengthy scratch on the reverse, this coin would be a stunning jewel (for those who enjoy fully original gold).
Low Estimate: $1,200.00

1843-D SMALL D. PCGS F-15.
1843-D is considered the "common" Dahlonega quarter-eagle, with a mintage of 36,209, though that is well under a tenth the mintage of the 1909-S VDB cent! Pronounced wear affects this honestly...
1066The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$1,650.00
1843-D Small Date, Crosslet 4. XF-45.
Occasional accents of coppery tone interact with underlying butter-gold surface color to provide attractive eye appeal that benefits this 1843-D quarter-eagle, consistently one of the better-produced...
826The Midwest Winter Sale 2008 on 02/08/2008$4,250.00
1843-D Coronet quarter-eagle, PCGS AU-58
As befits an AU-58 grade, this delightful gold coin has much the appearance of an uncirculated piece. Active mint luster glimmers from each side, and the surface quality is really very good for a...
