Lot Title:
1844-C PCGS XF-40.
Description:
This coin is so thoroughly and completely original that it looks like it could have been retrieved from a hand-cranked wooden antique cash register just yesterday. Vintage mustard-grey patina has settled pleasantly across each side, yet original luster still glints with steely resolve from better protected areas of the fields. Many Charlotte coins suffer from abnormally prevalent abrasions, but this example is somewhat smoother than average, with only one unassuming scratch on the eagle's left (observed) wing perhaps worthy of note.
