Lot Title:
1800 S-203, R-3. VF-25.
Description:
Diagnostically identified by a diagonal "saw tooth" die cut, approximately 3 mm., before Liberty's nose. While on its injured reverse, Liberty's bust outline is seen incused from the final "S" of "STATES" and extending over "OF." Also, the date 1800 is stamped under "TES" of "STATES," with the last digit seen to the right of the top serif of the last "S." This specimen is a glossy brown, and is observed with a few rather indistinct obverse scratches. A sharp example of this variety, which could place it within the top 25!
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
