Lot Title:
1803 Small 3, B-5, BB-252, R-3. XF-40.
Description:
This specimen's resplendent surfaces are enriched by an exquisite blending of gold and blue. It was, perhaps, lightly wiped as evidenced by a slightly lightened central sector on its obverse. Other than a slight softness of detailing observable in the central area of Liberty's hair, this is an exceptionally handsome strike.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

1803 Large 3 (B-6). ANACS VF-35.

The only "large 3" die-marriage, this example seems ever so slightly glossy when one "peeks through" the biscuit-gold patina, but the devices still show pleasing accumulation of dirt, especially... |
