(About The Images)
1803 (B-5, R.2) Small 3. PCGS XF-40 CAC. 1803 (B-5, R.2) Small 3. PCGS XF-40 CAC.
Lot Title: 1803 (B-5, R.2) Small 3. PCGS XF-40 CAC.
Description: Each side displays strong tin-grey tendencies with additional streaks of variegated graphite coloration in the obverse fields. Superior luster emanates from the reverse and actually suggests some claims on an AU grade, although the obverse lacks flowline except in the best protected areas between the stars. Perhaps best of all, the surfaces are entirely devoid of major marks, with a couple of moderate ticks present on Liberty's neck. B-5 has a unique "small 3" obverse identified by the "T" in LIBERTY with a longer serif on the right (true to all the "T"s on the reverse). (PCGS# 006900)

638The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$2,400.00
1803 Large 3 (B-6). ANACS VF-35.
The only "large 3" die-marriage, this example seems ever so slightly glossy when one "peeks through" the biscuit-gold patina, but the devices still show pleasing accumulation of dirt, especially...
543The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$1,565.00
1803 Small 3 (B-4, BB-254, R.3). VF/light old cleaning.
The obverse features dark leather-brown patina that almost seems ashy by comparison to the more typical silver-beige coloration of the reverse. Odd surface friction seemingly indicates a light old...
512The Collector's Auction on 10/20/2006$4,000.00
1803 Small 3, B-5, BB-252, R-3. XF-40.
This specimen's resplendent surfaces are enriched by an exquisite blending of gold and blue. It was, perhaps, lightly wiped as evidenced by a slightly lightened central sector on its obverse. Other...
