(About The Images)
1924-S NGC MS-63 BN, and a 1925-S NGC MS-62 RB. 1924-S NGC MS-63 BN, and a 1925-S NGC MS-62 RB.
Lot Title: 1924-S NGC MS-63 BN, and a 1925-S NGC MS-62 RB.
Description: In the big scheme of things, the grades assigned these semi-keys amount to the same essential estimate of quality. Strangely enough, the 1924-S, given a BN designation appears to have MORE red-brown color than the 1925-S, given an RB designation. So be it. The important thing is that both feature plenty of luster, but also the soft strikes so prevalent with these mid-20s mintmarked cents. 1925-S shows particularly soft central details. Two coin lot.

1924-S PCGS MS-62RB.
Deep cherry color is endorsed by the "RB" designation, with only about of a third of the surface mellowed to burgundy-brown. As is so often the case for these 1920s San Francisco coins, the strike is...
499The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$230.00
1924-S PCGS MS-63RB.
An exceptional level of the original mint red can be seen across either side, with merely a quarter or less toned to steely-brown. As usual, this 1924-S is poorly struck -- there is no other way to...
