Lot Title:
1949-D PCGS MS-65FBL.
Description:
Clem Stevens Collection. 509 graded MS-65 FBL, 25 higher at PCGS. Denver half-dollars for 1948 can easily be found well struck, but such is not the case for 1949. The 1949-D commands a substantial premium with full bell lines, and in combination with high grade, becomes one of the premier rarities in the series. This is an absolutely blazing pure-white example, sporting a full and complete set of lines above and below, and the only noticeable distraction can be seen as some minor linear marks left of Franklin's hair.
