Lot Title:
Two 1958-D, NGC MS-65 and NGC MS-66 in single NGC holder.
Description:
Clem Stevens Collection. Obviously, these half-dollars were kept together to demonstrate the obverse and reverse designs for the Franklin half-dollar using coins of exceedingly well matched qualities. That is certainly the case, though NGC supplies grades of MS-65 for one coin, and MS-66 for the other. Nonetheless, the color scheme for the obverse and reverse respectively clearly possess the same, deep lilac-grey toning with fantastic rainbow overtones, and that in itself makes them a desirable pairing. Two coin lot, but housed in a single slab.
