Lot Title:
1830 (LM-4) NGC MS-64.
Description:
LM-4 offers several collectable die states, this one characterized by a noticeable die clash on the reverse and some minor die cracks. Given how pretty this example looks, one might expect to see a "star" on the grade, but not so. Nonetheless, the eye-appeal benefits from extensive mango-orange toning, relieved by brilliant aqua-blue at the date, while the reverse mixes up equal portions of silver and peach. A very well defined coin, with the recut denomination prominently visible. (PCGS# 004277)

1830 (LM-8) Capped Bust half-dime, PCGS MS-64

Not much separates this coin from a "gem" grade, with the presence of a few superficial scratches on Liberty's cheek being the likely grade limiter. Although the reverse is tamely patinated in... |
