Lot Title:
1805 PCGS Genuine (code 98, VF details/tooled)
Description:
LM-1, the only die-marriage. Details should readily meet any reasonable standard for Fine, even though some design elements are relieved by moderate wear. Discounting an uneven strike E PLURIBUS UNUM can be read on the reverse, and of course the date is bold as can be. PCGS states "surfaces tooled" and they have had the advantage of seeing the coin outside the slab, but examination suggests that this old coin has simply been scratched a little aggressively from normal turn-of-the-century circulation.
