Lot Title:
1830 (LM-8) Capped Bust half-dime, PCGS MS-64
Description:
Not much separates this coin from a "gem" grade, with the presence of a few superficial scratches on Liberty's cheek being the likely grade limiter. Although the reverse is tamely patinated in platinum-grey color, the obverse displays a nice mixture of rose and heather-blue color. Robustly struck, as are many examples of this common die marriage; indeed, this is one of the most available LM varieties for 1830, and therefore an excellent choice for type.
