Lot Title:
|
1835 NGC MS-64.
|
Description:
|
LM-1. A die clash and peripheral die crack on the reverse identify a later die-state. Scorching white luster makes this a suitable type representative for a high-grade untoned collection, and since this is such an available die-marriage (R.2), there is no added premium for scarcity. The dies clashed multiple times, inducing a bulge on the obverse and a small but ominous crack has formed at "T" in UNITED. (PCGS# 999999)

1835 (LM-10, R.1) NGC MS-63.

Evidently an earlier die-state for LM-2, for which a low "3" in the date aids attribution. Only the upper loop of the second "S" in STATES is filled, and there is a tiny die crack connecting "T" in... |

310 | The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010 | $450.00 |
1835 (LM-3, R.1) AU and 1837 (no stars) XF.
|
The bust half-dime displays hints of prooflike character. In the case of the seated half-dime, a small scratch should be noted on the reverse, but it doesn't disqualify it from earning a solid XF... |

1106 | The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006 | $180.00 |
1835 ANACS AU-55.
|
There is a ton of luster left on this just-barely-circulated Half Dime. There are no major blemishes, just a slight sign of wear. |
