(About The Images)
1796 Small Date/Small Letters. ANACS AU-55. 1796 Small Date/Small Letters. ANACS AU-55.
Lot Title: 1796 Small Date/Small Letters. ANACS AU-55.
Description: B-5a is a cinch to attribute as soon as the die-break between "IC" on the reverse is located, and this is an only lightly-worn example, still replete with much of the original mint luster. Some frosty texture emanates from the fields as the coin is tilted back and forth under a lamp, although one can easily surmise that mild cleaning created the somewhat pale silvery demeanor. The obverse rim sees an occasional tinge of gold, while the reverse features a bit more tin-bronze accenting the outer areas. Needless to say, for the ANACS AU grade level, hardly any detail has been lost to circulation, as Liberty's tresses are virtually complete, and the eagle's feathers are almost entirely complete. (PCGS# 006859)

1796 Small Date, Small Letters. F details/graffiti.
The "graffiti" referenced almost defies rational description. In a smoke-induced haze, one might easily mistake the varied and mysterious glyphs as some sort of witchcraft, or nefarious incantation. ...
621The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$5,750.00
1796 Small Date, Small Letters (B-2). AU details/cleaned.
Details easily meet expectations of XF, with strongly delineated strands of hair and drapery for Liberty's portrait. The eagle's feathers are really quite strong, with some flatness at the center of...

1796 Small Letters, B-5, BB-65, R-4. VF-30.
The surfaces are copiously shaded with a charcoal-gray aspect with just a whisper of lavender. There are no adjustment marks to note, and its surfaces are also void of detracting marks or blemishes. ...
