Lot Title:
1894 PCGS PF-64.
Description:
Contrary to usual expectations for the PF-64 level, there are no distracting hairlines to be found anywhere, and surfaces are essentially free from contact. Extreme sharpness shows in the complete star details, the definition in the hair above Liberty's forehead, and carefully crafted feather details. Rather, the grade most assuredly derives from the rather murky toning pattern, with greyish areas scattered across the obverse, and thicker ashy toning that clings to the devices on the reverse.
