Lot Title:
1886 PCGS AU-58.
Description:
A single glance is all that is required to suggest prooflike character, and subsequent examination shows the fields to be remarkably reflective. The devices are nicely frosted, and it is quite surprising the coin didn't meet standards for a "prooflike" designation. Perhaps another grading service would be willing to adorn the coin with that appropriate endorsement! Wear on the highpoints is very slight, with friction in the fields being the most obvious exhibition of wear. An easy coin to fall for. (PCGS# 008008)
