1887 PCGS MS-64.
Description:
WOW factor plays a major roll in the eye-appeal, with considerable acclaim generated by the brilliant, flashy yellow-gold luster and high precision strike. For a three-dollar coin intended for commerce, the details are amazing, with completeness in the hair all the way down to and including the lower curls. Under a loupe, Liberty's portrait is noticeably frosted, although there is scarcely any cameo effect since the fields are also fully lustrous. A couple of trivial pin scratches in the obverse left and upper fields are appropriate for the MS-64 level, as is a pair of faint copper spots on the reverse. (PCGS# 008009)

This sparkling issue has a rose blush copiously bedecking its rich yellow-gold surfaces. There is evidence of the piece having been subjected to a light cleaning. The strike is quite admirable. |
