Lot Title:
1883 PCGS AU-55.
Description:
Here is everything one could hope for and more in a gold coin at the AU-55 grade. Deep crimson-gold patina adorns the edge areas, framing strongly prooflike devices with a three-dimensional quality that is often missing from gold coins with less contrasting color. Fields are a little chippy, as often happens with delicately mirrored surfaces, but it is a pleasure to be able to enjoy an undipped gold coin without concerns over past "enhancement". First-rate vintage quality! (PCGS# 008005)
