Lot Title:
1882 PCGS AU-55.
Description:
Butter-gold with only modest luster, that due in part to the way the coin was struck with polished dies. A couple of small digs and other tiny contact marks are elevated within the obverse left field, while the reverse is exceptionally free from contact marks. "2" in the date appears to have been repositioned over an errant original punching, with a small, raised blob above, and a distinct raised line through its center. (PCGS# 008004)
