Lot Title:
1877 NGC MS-64.
Description:
Artistic license in selection of palette has led to an interesting combination of pastels, with the obverse dominated by pale sunset-orange color that yields to lazy clouds of cyan in the right field. The reverse is primarily pale sea-green, with hints of summertime lavender-orange percolating among the peripheral lettering. The grade might very well have been MS-65 if not for one single deterrent: a hairline scratch that extends from the left side of the eagle's shield up over the back of his neck.
