Lot Title:
1797 Low Head, Plain Edge (C-3a, R.3). PCGS VF-25 BN.
Description:
The portrait is low and ME stands over a triplet for C-3a. A glossy example, the surfaces have been carefully smoothed to lessen the offenses of even microporosity, with color nicely restored and made slick by a thin vestige of oil. One beneficial effect is that several old pin scratches that crisscross over the portrait are now only minimally distracting. The reverse exhibits a nice die break from the center directly to the left rim.
