(About The Images)
1936 Brilliant PF-62. 1936 Brilliant PF-62.
Lot Title: 1936 Brilliant PF-62.
Description: Brilliant proof format is by far that preferred by most collectors (over the satin proof format), and this is such a piece. Details are, of course, exceedingly sharp as is always the case, and furtive die polish lines can be seen scattered all over the fields, deeply impressed by the amazing strike. There are sporadic hairlines intermingled as well, and they show up only at certain viewing angles, but overall, this is an attractive coin, as most proof buffalo nickels are. Color on the obverse is managed by an interlacing of ice-blue and ruby-orange accents distributed liberally over the bright nickel surfaces, while the reverse is brilliant with splashes of apricot-gold.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

1936 NGC Proof Details/environmental damage.
Lovely from the important obverse side, close inspection here will find nothing more than numerous dark toning spots to account for the "environmental damage" disclaimer. Were it not for a single...

1936 PCGS PF-66 Brilliant.
No cameo frost can be seen on either side at all, allowing glassy brilliance to beam brightly with watery sheen. This coin is faintly tinged with silver-cobalt patina, with subtle rainbow shades...

1936 ICG PF-67.
Inability to easily distinguish proof strikings from high quality business strike production is what led to the demise of the "satin proof" format for the buffalo nickel seventy years ago, and this...
