(About The Images)
1820/19 O-102 Curl 2 PCGS VF-35. 1820/19 O-102 Curl 2 PCGS VF-35.
Lot Title: 1820/19 O-102 Curl 2 PCGS VF-35.
Description: Despite a modest and completely accurate technical grade, this is simply an incredibly attractive coin. Integration of a diverse palette of lily green, aqua blue and mustard yellow colors evoke the perception of a Monet masterpiece that must be seen to be appreciated. The colors are conjoined around a central tan toning pattern that is remarkably reminiscent of a painter’s brush strokes, furthering the temptation to compare this coin’s appearance to that of an impressionist painting. When looked at closely, one notices that details on the right obverse are bordered with pulsating electric blue that yields a three-dimensional effect. Truly an extraordinary piece, so even those bidders not interested in this particular issue should take time to look at the coin just to appreciate the remarkable artistic allure.

1820/19 "curl 2" PCGS VF-35.
CONSIGNOR: How could I forget getting run up on this coin [laughs]? But for good reason, it's got to be the most conservative grade ever, even by PCGS standards. When have you ever seen a VF with...

1820/19 (O-102) Capped Bust half-dollar, NGC MS-60
The Overton variety that corresponds to "1820/19 curl base 2" is not indicated on the NGC slab, but is easy to confirm as O-102, since the O-101 overdate features a "square base 2". Of course, the...

1820/19 Square Base 2, O-101, R-2. AU-50.
This sensational example, with much of its original luster virtually intact, displays intense, exquisitely blended tones of rose and blue. Some meager ticks and speckles, plus a few faint hairlines -...

1820/19 NGC AU-50.
This is an outstanding looking Half Dollar. The surfaces are dark pewter gray with abundant luster around the peripheries of both sides. The underdigit is clear and strong on this early die state...
