Lot Title:
1873 Open 3. NGC MS-65.
Description:
This specimen's yellow-gold aspect beams with a visual vibrancy from its satinlike surfaces. A few trivial ticks and a faint scuff or two on the reverse's fields are noted. A curious raised protuberance is seen above Liberty's jaw. Except for a slight weakness perceived on the numerals "8" and "7", the design elements are quite sharp.

Rouge color blushes from the tortoise-shell luster that appears on both sides of this little coin. What appears to the unaided eye to be a large vertical scratch on the portrait is in fact a line of... |
