(About The Images)
1873 Open 3. NGC MS-65. 1873 Open 3. NGC MS-65.
Lot Title: 1873 Open 3. NGC MS-65.
Description: This specimen's yellow-gold aspect beams with a visual vibrancy from its satinlike surfaces. A few trivial ticks and a faint scuff or two on the reverse's fields are noted. A curious raised protuberance is seen above Liberty's jaw. Except for a slight weakness perceived on the numerals "8" and "7", the design elements are quite sharp.
Low Estimate: $1,700.00
High Estimate: $2,000.00

1873 Open 3. PCGS MS-63.
"Open 3" is the more common logotype for the date, and overall mintage of 123,300 makes 1873 a readily available type-3 gold dollar. A PCGS green-label holder houses this example, and that may...

Rouge color blushes from the tortoise-shell luster that appears on both sides of this little coin. What appears to the unaided eye to be a large vertical scratch on the portrait is in fact a line of...
