Lot Title:
1876 PCGS MS-64.
Description:
This glistening example portrays an elegant coppery aspect from its prooflike fields. The typical surface haziness that is sometimes apparent with these prooflike, Type 3 dollars is less noticeable on this piece. Some faint hairlines are observed. These are noted for accuracy, but are not visually detrimental for this superbly struck specimen. Its low recorded mintage of 3,245 makes this date quite desirable in all grades.

A pleasing blend of yellow-gold and richer orange-gold cover the surfaces. Hidden marks consistent with the grade, but this is still a very pretty example. |
