(About The Images)
1797 Plain Edge - '96. Fine. 1797 Plain Edge - '96. Fine.
Lot Title: 1797 Plain Edge - '96. Fine.
Description: S-138, as evidenced by swelling at "OF," is a common Sheldon variety for 1797, and they are generally available very nice, as is the case here. The color is the perfect brown, and some original crud attests to outstanding originality. Detail and net grades are likely very close for this copper coin, which we estimate at the Fine level. All design elements are clear, and both sides exhibit strong dentils. Lovely eye appeal for this early cent.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

High Estimate: $750.00
