Lot Title:
(1831-34) BECHTLER. PCGS XF-45.
Description:
Designed by Christopher Bechtler, this reeded edge 1 Dollar Carolina Gold piece example is undated, but was struck between 1832 and 1834 and is listed as Breen 7744. As usually found, some of the denticulation is missing and the design is not centered. This example of the first coinage of this denomination displays bold inscriptions. There are a few marks observed, but these are congruent for the assigned grade. The surfaces are lustrous in the more isolated regions and have a coppery aspect.
