Description:

Collector appeal: "B+" for the average grade range estimate of VG to Fine. The three-legged buffalo grades VF-25 or possibly better, and being this much nicer than the estimated grade range automatically raises the appeal of the collection. Only 1914-S (G/cleaned) and 1918-S (Fine/corroded) really need an upgrade, as even the overdate 1918/7-D should grade G-6 and even push on the VG level. Other keys include: 1913-D type-2 (VG/weak date). 1913-S type-2 (VG-8), 1914-D (G+), and 1917-S (Fine), but the 1921-S, 1924-S and 1926-S each grade only Fine.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
