(About The Images)
1912-S PCGS MS-65 CAC. 1912-S PCGS MS-65 CAC.
Lot Title: 1912-S PCGS MS-65 CAC.
Description: An interesting die-state for the obverse shows a tiny die crack connecting the lower left point of the bust to the rim, and another small die crack right between "12" and the final star. Despite the inherent weakness of such a die, both sides feature excellent sharpness to the tune of most kernels brought up for the left ear of wheat, while the obverse stars all display fine relief. Steely lavender-gold embraces both sides, with sunset colors stealing over and into the rightmost edges. (PCGS# 003875)

270The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$3,400.00
1912-S PCGS MS-65.
Brock Megran Collection. Scotsman is fortunate to be able to offer a pair of 1912-S key nickels at the PCGS gem level, as the date remains elusive at high grade even in today's slab-happy market. ...
396The Midwest Summer Sale 2014 on 07/18/2014$3,300.00
1912-S NGC MS-65 (no line).
Aside from the high grade and old NGC no-line holder, what sets this 1912-S nickel apart from competitors in like grade are the powerful strike -- uncommon for the date -- and lovely, purely original...
356The Collectors' Auction 2012 on 10/05/2012$4,100.00
1912-S NGC MS-65 (no line).
Superb quality in a 1912-S nickel just doesn't come along very often. The issue is far more common in low grade than high, yet on its own, this GEM would never reveal that truth. Lovely album toning...
357The Collectors' Auction 2012 on 10/05/2012$4,600.00
1912-S PCGS MS-65 CAC.
What elevates this nearly astonishing key nickel well above average for 1912-S is first the powerful, robust sharpness that dominates both sides. Notorious for poor strikes, few examples offer the...
356The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$4,900.00
1912-S NGC MS-65.
A strike that easily surpasses the norm characterizes this fantastic 1912-S key date Liberty nickel. In addition, marvelous and fully original multi-colored toning beams off each side, painting the...
354The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$220.00
1912-S PCGS F-12.
In 1912, Liberty Head nickels were struck only at the San Francisco Mint. The mintage was a diminutive 238,000 pieces. This attainable and attractive piece exhibits honest wear without...
945The Collector's Auction on 10/20/2006$1,850.00
1912-S AU-58.
Just a hint of wear keeps this coin from grading much higher. There are no major marks to speak of, and no major distractions. The toning might be a little questionable.
