Lot Title:
1909 PCGS MS-64RD.
Description:
Neils Franks Consignment. In most grades, 1909 would hardly register as a key date in the series, but with a "red" designation, the coin becomes uncommon and especially difficult to find well-struck. Four diamond sharpness shows here, although the tips of the feathers lack precise detailing, and while fully red, some faint grey speckles can be found strewn across the obverse. (PCGS# 002237)

Considerable mellowing of the original mint red yields a robust pumpkin-orange color that cedes to even richer tones at the edges. The diamonds are nearly full. An annoying piece of debris rests just... |
