Lot Title:
1860-S NGC AU-55.
Description:
3 graded AU-55, 15 higher at NGC. Minted to the extent of 140,000 pieces, the 1860-S dime must have suffered considerable attrition, as survivors in any grade are difficult to locate, with AU coins downright scarce in slabs. Flying in the face of age and modest rub, exuberant white surfaces exhibit mild prooflike character and minimal tone. Nicely struck, and a fine prize for the Seated dime collector. (PCGS# 004622)
