Lot Title:
1860-S NGC AU Details/improperly cleaned.
Description:
"Improperly cleaned" almost seems a superfluous statement for a circulated 150 year-old silver coin that remains stark white, especially since the cleaning process was rather mild and hasn't thickly hairlined the surfaces. Anyone could guess that something was done to maintain this level of whiteness! Still, much luster remains, and details are affected only by light wear. Not mentioned by NGC is a thin, intermittent hairline scratch that bisects the obverse, but is visible only under magnification.
