Lot Title:
Collection of Lincoln cents, with Proof-only issues, in a Dansco 8100 album.
Description:
Shoeless Joe Collection. Occasional uneven quality means a few coins have problems, such as 1909-S VDB (XF/cleaned), 1911-D (VF/environmental damage), and 1922 "no D, weak reverse" (fine/environmental damage). However, numerous nicer pieces abound throughout, with a few highlights as follows: 1909-S (F), 1914-D (VF/lightly cleaned), and several XF to AU early dates such as 1915-D, and 1916, and 1931-S. Red examples begin to appear in the late 1930s. As an added bonus, the consignor, placed PROOF coins from 1937 through 1964 in a blank page in the back of the album.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
