Lot Title:

Complete collection of Lincoln cents, 1909 through 1995-S (no varieties).
|
Description:
|
White Mare Collection. 1909-S VDB is in an ICG slab and certified as grading F-15, while the balance of a complete Lincoln Cent collection from 1909 through 1995-S rests peacefully in the consignor's Dansco album. (The consignor does not consider 1922 "plain" as a part of a set and it is not included.) Slides have been stapled into place, so ESTIMATES only are offered here, suggested "through the plastic". Pieces from 1927 on seem to be uncirculated, the vast majority also qualifying for a RD designation. This includes 1927-D, 1927-S, 1928-D, 1928-S, 1931-D, and 1931-S, which all seem worthy of at least MS-63. But of course the better coins fall in the pre-1927 section of the album. Here, upgraded coins and highlights run rampant, making it impossible to list every single valuable piece. Just to establish a reasonable "look and feel" as to the overall quality of the set, we offer the following necessarily-abbreviated list of highlights: 1909-S (AU), 1910-S (BU), 1912-D (AU), 1912-S (AU), 1914-D (VF-35 and superb), 1915-D (AU), 1915-S (XF+), 1916-D (UNC), 1918-D (UNC), 1919-D (UNC), 1920-S (UNC), 1924-D (AU), 1925-S (UNC), and 1926-S (AU).
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
