Only six die-marriages represent the 1793 Liberty cap cent, with Sheldon-13 the most available, although no '93 Lib-Cap could ever be considered "common". Is there any such thing as a "perfect" one? Perhaps not, but one can easily make a case that it is the most desirable early copper type, and the tremendous popularity of the coin means every single example in existence faces strong demand, including this PCGS VG-8, that being doubly true just because it is in a PCGS holder and registry-eligible. Ebony-brown patina subdues the dynamic range to considerable extent, but as the assigned VG-8 grade suggests, basic details remain bold, and there is plenty enough fine sharpness remaining to easily affirm attribution. A millimeter of the pole remains between the cap and Liberty's portrait, and the leaf to far right of the reverse points to "A". While moderately burnished and therefore a bit glossy as an unavoidable result, the deep color expels any fears of unsightly characteristics, and nobody will mind the reasonably smooth appearance, especially by comparison to the many pitted and rough examples extant.
