Lot Title:
1842-D Small Date. NGC VF details/damaged.
Description:
More available than the "large date" subtype, the small date 1842-D certainly comprises a majority of the 60-thousand minted. This example provides an unusually and pleasantly bold appearance, with both sides retaining the majority of original detail buoyed by the presence of some powder-gold accents. NGC mentions "damage" in reference to two small depressions flung off to the left, and possibly a pair of curving hairline scratches through the olive branch. (PCGS# 008210)
