Description:
|
As opposed to the usual cleaned or overly conserved example, this Dahlonega product seems to retain a substantive level of vintage surface presence, as can be observed by the somewhat ashy grey patina layered over khaki-gold surfaces. Furthermore, the planchet seems to have been of better than-average-quality and received a superior strike, as the coin shows the type of detail expected of a Philadelphia product. The new owner will be greeted not only by delightful central sharpness, but some nice underlying mint frost throughout as well. A singular hairline across Liberty's cheek seems to be the only plausible complaint, and it is minor. (PCGS# 007725)
