Lot Title:
1849-C PCGS VF-25.
Description:
Samuel Robertson Gold Consignment. Probably the scarcest coin in this consignment and relatively new to the PCGS population, this 1849-C proves to be available in nicer circulated grades, though its price becomes extravagant at the next grade level. Strong traces of grapefruit toning surrounds many design elements, yielding to overall lemon-gold color. A single tiny dig above the eagle's head represents the only mentionable contact. 1849-C PCGS VF-25.

Mintage: 10,220. VF seems to be the predominant grade for the 1849 Charlotte quarter-eagle, with not many more than a hundred believed to still exist in all grades. Usually found with soft... |

1849-C VF.

An ideal candidate for the VF grade range, the coin is free from any problems other than normal circulation, and the surfaces appear to be significantly more original than what is often seen, even... |

1849-C ICG AU-55.
There is no arguing the scarcity of the 1849-C quarter-eagle. Only ten-thousand were minted, and of that amount, perhaps 1% or so survive, with AU representatives particularly scarce. Surfaces for... |
