(About The Images)
1919-D AU. 1919-D AU.
Lot Title: 1919-D AU.
Description: Roman Powers Collection. In the realm of AU through mint-state grades, 1919-D becomes surpassed only by the exceptionally difficult 1921-S issue in terms of outright blatant scarcity. Besides extremely attractive sharpness for the date, this example offers what appears to be an AU-53 grade and pleasing graphite-pearl surface color overall. At that grade, one might expect a few marks here and there, but that just isn't the case here; each side displays surfaces of remarkably fine preservation, showing no ticks at all and perhaps just a trivial carbon spot or two as the most egregious "distraction". (PCGS# 006578)

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

1919-D F, 1920-D XF, and a 1920-S XF.
1919-D should prove to be quite strong for the "fine" grade, given rather bold central details (for a moderately circulated coin). 1920 shows a delicate hint of luster beneath an apricot-gold...

1919-D VF-35 and 1928-S AU-55 Walking Liberty half-dollars
The 1919-D grades a perfect VF-35, and is bumping up against the next grade. This is a strictly graded coin with good, original surface quality. The accompanying 1928-S grades AU-55 and has possibly...
