Lot Title:
1806 Round 6, 7 x 6 Stars. PCGS Genuine, AU details/graffiti.
Description:
"Graffiti" referenced in the grade disclaimer calls out the presence of a couple of faint "X" marks, one in each obverse field. Undoubtedly, these were test marks employed by some long ago vendor who wanted to ensure he was receiving a genuine payment. The entire surface shows innumerable micro-ticks that could suggest use as a pocket piece. An inexpensive way to acquire AU details in a difficult early gold type. (PCGS# 008089)
