Several very shallow contact points wander into the field beneath Liberty's chin and offer the only noticeable evidence of contact. (PCGS# 008010)

1075The Collectors' Auction 2013 on 10/18/2013$1,000.00
1888 ANACS MS-60 details/reverse damage.
Taken as a whole this seems to be a Choice Uncirculated 3-dollar gold piece, with amazingly attractive luster and very little contact to speak of. Except, as bad luck would have it, that a hit...
923The Collectors' Auction 2012 on 10/05/2012$4,800.00
1888 PCGS MS-63.
Mintage: 5000. 3-dollar gold coins of this late-date era simply did not circulate, so the terribly low mintages often belie true availability. In fact, 1888 actually takes a place among the more...
478The Collectors' Auction 2011 on 10/21/2011$3,700.00
1888 PCGS MS-62.
Bright yellow-gold surfaces exude premium quality luster, endowed with complex, rolling satin texture and smooth eye-appeal. Even without a glass, the characterization of the finer details is...
1075The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$775.00
1888 XF details/cleaned.
Overall demeanor really is still fairly decent despite a mild, old cleaning, since the edge devices continue to protect some luster, and there are no large abrasions. The only notable mark rests up...
1020The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$8,750.00
1888 NGC MS-64.
1888 is unquestionably one of the three or four most available three-dollar gold coins in any grade, including the present MS-64. Some collectors unfamiliar with the series might find that fact...
1141The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$1,500.00
1888 NGC AU-55.
A little pale, though not nearly as excessively lightened as some three-dollar gold pieces in slabs. Some luster shows in the fields.
979The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$17,250.00
1888 NGC PF-64 Ultra Cameo.
For the collector wishing to own a proof three-dollar gold coin, 1888 is a popular candidate, as it bears the largest mintage of the series (if production of 291 pieces can be discussed in terms of...
