Lot Title:
Run of eight Bust half-dimes, 1829 through 1836.
Description:
Ranging in grade from XF to AU, each member of this straight run of half-dimes has been attributed by Logan-McCloskey variety. The consignor states that four of them were removed from legitimate slabs, specifically detailed herein. The coins are listed as follows: 1829 LM-15.1 (ex-ANACS MS-60, lustrous and deeply toned but with two or three obverse hairline scratches), 1830 LM-2 (ex-NGC AU-55, dusky toning and a small dig on the reverse), 1831 LM-7 (XF-45, luster and blue-grey toning), 1832 LM-3 (AU/obverse lightly wiped), 1833 LM-10 (XF-40, incredibly perfect original), 1834 LM-4 (XF-40, once again incredibly perfect original), 1835 LM-11 R.4 (ex-ANACS AU-50, but looks more like XF-45, with aqua-marine toning), and 1836 LM-6 (ex-PCGS XF-45, good luster and scattered steel-blue toning on the reverse). Eight coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
