Lot Title:
1872 PCGS PF-64.
Description:
The obverse exhibits full cameo effect, while the reverse features brilliance that undoubtedly denied an overall cameo proof designation. Bathed in dusky honey-brown toning toward the outer areas, the devices maintain mostly ivory-white patina. Two small spots in the obverse lower right field may have been previously tooled away with great care, as they bear evidence of localized hairlines, and that might be accounted for in the PCGS PF-64 grade. (PCGS# 005571)

1872 PCGS PF-67.
Only this coin has achieved the PF-67 grade by PCGS, and none have graded higher. NGC has graded a mere two PF-67, none higher. So, odds are this coin is one of the most elite examples for the date.... |
