Lot Title:
|
1902 $10.00. Oblong, IL Charter# 8696 Blue Seal. VF.
|
Description:
|
The Oil Belt National Bank of Oblong, Illinois. A note that's tough to find on Crawford County. While the bottom margin is skinny, the top margin on is widely cut into the upper note, producing a jumbo appearance overall. Somewhat faded signatures are still readable.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

An interesting juxtaposition of names that gives us the tongue twister name of "Old Belt National Bank of Oblong, Illinois". Signatures are nearly faded, and the lower right corner is oddly cut. ... |

The Oil Belt National Bank of Oblong, Illinois. Interesting title on this bright and crisp example from the rarest of the two Oblong banks. Original with embossing seen on the back. |

Charter# 8696. The Oil Belt National Bank of Oblong, Illinois. This note would easily grade VF if not for the staining and slight peeling around the seal on the front. You'll likely be able to live... |
