Lot Title:
1902 $5.00. Pinckneyville, IL Charter# 6025 Blue Seal. F, in a attractive frame.
Description:
The note should grade around "fine", but edges are concealed by the heavy gold-tone matting. Above the note is a copy of a picture bearing the legend "Public School, Pinckneyville, Ill". The artwork is subtitled "1882 / FIRST NATIONAL BANK / PINCKEYVILLE (sp), IL / CHARTERED: 1901". Considering the effort put into assembling this item, it is rather unexpected that the city's name would be misspelled, yet this remains an exceptional conversation piece, suitable for display on any wall.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

1882 $5.00. Pinckneyville, IL Charter# 6025 Value Back. XF.
The First National Bank of Pinckneyville, Illinois. Both signatures are easily readable if not terribly vivid, while the ink and paper are surprisingly bright and vivid for just an XF grade. |
