Lot Title:
1943 Struck 15% Off-Center NGC MS-63, and a 1950-D Broadstruck Out of Collar PCGS MS-63RD.
Description:
Exceptionally high "coolness factor" elevates the appeal of this pair of monstrosities. The steel cent delivers a ridiculously strong strike, unimpeded by a collar at the time of manufacture, but sports a bizarre crescent of extra metal above the upper right border. The 1950-D also displays incredibly sharp central details, again made possible by lack of a constraining collar, which resulted in the distended peripheral details. "Value" is one thing, but few pairs in today's sale can arrest a collector's attention as firmly as this uber-cool two coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
